My grand aunt Charlotte A. Raymo (1907-1996) kept an enormous collection of family photographs throughout her life. The collection was started by her mother Margaret A. Merrow (1882-1946)and was lovingly preserved by Charlotte.
These are edited highlights from this treasure trove of Raymo family history.
What a beautiful photo. If only there was a corresponding photo of the photographer... (Grandma Raymo?) Was she in the water? On a bridge? What kind of camera was it? So great to see where Dad's love of cameras came from!
I assume the photographer for most of these early pictures was Margaret, as she rarely appears in them. I don't know what kind of camera it was, but it used medium format 120 film based upon the extant negatives.
